Corn snakes are known to be good escapers and always try to push open lid with help of their noses if they found a weak spot to escape to freedom.

You will also need to keep the temperature of the cage 70 F to 85º F at daytime and at night 65 F to 72º F. You can also use heat taps or heat pads underneath the enclosure. Heat pad must be kept in half area of the tank this will maintain cool and warm gradient in enclosure. You could also provide heat gradient from an overhead bright light which will also give out basking spot. Corn snake don’t require specific or special lightings. So you can place the corn snake housing anywhere in your home.
